What is the function of the rear tire bracket/rest?Updated 4 months ago

The rear tire rest/bracket is designed to prevent the bike from swinging from side to side when pivoting a bike in the rack. This keeps bikes safe and secure and eliminates damage to the wall. Your tire is only required to have partial contact with the rest for it to perform its function. Simply place the rear wheel to the side you wish to pivot the bike. It works universally with all tire widths, including fat tires. Narrow tires will generally sit deeper in the rear tire rest (more than wide tires).
